How much does a new roof cost in Surrey?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the tile or slate you choose, the condition of the timbers underneath, and the access and scaffolding needed. Rather than guess, we visit, measure and give you a free written estimate that is itemised so you can see exactly what is included. There is no obligation to go ahead.
How long does a new roof take?
A typical family home takes around one to two weeks from strip-off to finishing ridge, depending on size, complexity and the weather. Larger or more detailed roofs take longer. We agree a timescale with you before we start and keep the roof weatherproof throughout.
Do I need planning permission to replace my roof?
Usually not for a like-for-like replacement. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, consent may be needed for a change of materials, and we can advise on what is normally required. Re-covering more than a quarter of a roof usually has to meet current Building Regulations, including insulation, and every roof we install is built to those standards.
Should I choose tile or slate?
It comes down to the age and style of your property, the pitch of the roof and your budget. We work with concrete tiles, machine-made and hand-crafted clay tiles, natural slate and fibre-cement slate, and we will recommend the option that suits your home and lasts.
